Poh Kong Holdings Bhd sedang mempertimbang menjual emas untuk pelaburan seperti diluluskan London Bullion Market Association dengan jangkaan pelaburan dalam logam berharga (IPM) itu akan dikecualikan daripada Cukai Barang dan Perkhidmatan (CBP).<\/p>\n<p>Pengarah Eksekutif Siow Der Ming berkata ketika ini Poh Kong menjual jongkong emas Bunga Raya 999.9 keluaran sendiri.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Kami berharap kerajaan akan mempertimbang pengecualian CBP bagi pengeluar IPM tempatan, atau sebagai alternatif, kami mungkin perlu menghantar emas untuk penapisan di mana-mana 137 pusat penapisan yang berdaftar dengan persatuan,&#8221; katanya.<\/p>\n<p>Siow, yang juga Presiden Persekutuan Perniagaan Emas di Malaysia berkata demikian kepada pemberita selepas mesyuarat agung tahunan syarikat di sini hari ini.<\/p>\n<p>Mengenai prospek industri itu pada tahun ini, beliau berkata permintaan domestik terhadap emas dan barang kemas masih ada berikutan ia dianggap sebagai aset selamat.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Rakyat Malaysia melihat emas dan barang kemas sebagai suatu bentuk pelaburan dan aksesori untuk kegunaan harian, dan saya percaya ia bukan lagi barangan mewah,&#8221; katanya.<\/p>\n<p>Rangkaian runcit barang kemas itu turut merancang untuk membuka lima buah lagi kedai dengan anggaran jumlah perbelanjaan modal sebanyak RM16 juta.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dua daripadanya akan dibuka pada April tahun ini,&#8221; katanya, sambil menambah sasaran pertumbuhan perolehan tahun ke tahun Poh Kong ialah 10 peratus.<\/p>\n<p>Bagi tahun kewangan berakhir 31 Julai, 2014, keuntungan sebelum cukai Poh Kong Group merosot 46 peratus kepada RM21.87 juta berbanding RM46.57 juta dicatatkan pada 2013.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;
