Lassonde dikatakan sebagai pembina syarikat terbesar dalam sejarah sektor perlombongan. Beliau adalah bekas Presiden Newmont syarikat perlombongan, bekas Pengerusi Majlis Emas Dunia dan Pengerusi Semasa Franco Nevada. Lassonde adalah individu yang paling kaya dan paling dihormati di dunia membuatkan (KWN) berasa berbesar hati kerana Lassonde memberitahu (KWN) apa yang beliau lakukan dengan dengan wang yang dimiliki beliau.Pertama sekali, inilah yang dikatakan beliau tentang emas &#8221; dari sektor ini, dua pembeli terbesar masih milik China dan India.
